Housing Our Military with Excellent Service (HOMES)




Learn how to effectively assist military personnel and veterans in making housing choices to best suit their needs. The average military family moves nine times over a 20-year career. These families have unique needs and benefits that you'll need to understand in order to better serve them. The HOMES certification is not affiliated with or endorsed by the National Association of REALTORS.

To earn the certification, REALTORS must pass the two-day HOMES course.

REALTORS who earn the HOMES certification:

  • Recieve a press release and customizable marketing materials.
  • Are not subject to annual dues other than REALTOR membership.
  • May be easily located at NYSAR.com

    Get the skills you need to effectively assist military personnel and their families, as well as veterans, in securing housing to best suit their needs. This course fulfills the three-hour state-mandated fair housing training for real estate licensees.

    After attending this course, you'll be equipped to:

  • Identify the special needs and motivations of military personnel and veterans.
  • Explain their unique housing and financing options.
  • Develop methods of practice specific to military personnel and their families.

    CE Credit: 15 hours

    Cost: $225 members/$250 non-members
